Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing – Design & Site Execution)

Job Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in HVAC and plumbing systems for both design and site execution in MEP projects. The ideal candidate should be capable of leading a team, managing mechanical works on-site, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with UAE regulations.
This role requires expertise in mechanical design, project execution, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Engineering (HVAC & Plumbing):
• Design HVAC systems, including load calculations, duct sizing, pipe routing, and equipment selection based on ASHRAE, SMACNA, and UAE regulations.
• Develop plumbing system designs, including water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems, ensuring compliance with UAE plumbing codes.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and BOQs using AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant software.
• Perform pump head calculations, ventilation system design, and chilled water system layouts.
• Select appropriate AHUs, FCUs, VRF, chillers, ducting, piping, and fire protection equipment.
• Work closely with electrical and civil engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other regulatory standards.
2. Site Execution & Project Management:
• Oversee HVAC and plumbing installations at the site, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of chillers, pumps, air distribution systems, piping, and plumbing networks.
• Identify and troubleshoot site-related technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure smooth execution.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports and inspection records.
3. Team Leadership & Coordination:
• Lead a team of Supervisors and Technicians to ensure efficient project execution.
• Conduct progress meetings with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Manage resources effectively to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4-6 years of GCC experience in HVAC and plumbing design & site execution in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of MEP design principles, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, DM Plumbing Code).
• Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP (Hourly Analysis Program), and MS Excel or relevant Software packages.
• Proven ability to lead a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
